…our first spin class!
A couple of weeks ago my friend Mel decided we should become gym fiends. However, due to our extremely awesome lifestyles, it turns out the only time we can really make it to the gym is at 6:00 AM. Which means waking up at 5:30 AM. Which means…it’s very dark out. But knowing that Mel is going to be waiting for me at the gym gives me the motivation to haul myself out of bed in the pitch black. The fact that I literally live 2 minutes from the gym helps too.
Anyways, we also decided we were going to try a spin class which is at 6 AM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays. Our first try was last Thursday. But seeing as I hadn’t been to the gym in oh, 3 months, and my gym got bought out by a different gym, led to a bit of delay as I tried to stroll in. Then we were too intimated to walk into the class 5 minutes late.
Our second try was this past Tuesday. This was quickly foiled by a 5:55 AM call from Mel to me asking, “um…are you coming”. To which I responded, “huh? Oh, oh, oh…crap!” and then revelation that I had set my alarm for 5:30 PM not 5:30 AM. Oops.
The third try was yesterday. Again we were 3 minutes late and scared off by the buff people sweating their butts off.
Today though, today we made it. We confidently strolled into the room where a man who looks like a mustachioed* version of my boss was beginning class. We then immediately lost our confidence when we realized we couldn’t even figure out how to roll the bikes out of their storage place. But we jumped in and discoverd…spin class is REALLY, REALLY hard.
I was alternating between going into cardiac arrest and feeling like my legs were going to fall off. After about 15 minutes, all I could think was, “how the heck am I going to survive another 30 minutes of this?” Apparently I did survive as I am typing this right now. And my legs are still attached to my body. Win!
Will we return? Probably. Three days a week? No way. But we’re totally going to be super buff.
Also, after writing an entire post about the gym…look, free Frostys for the rest of the year! (Well $1 for Frostys for a year!)
Speaking of Wendy’s…The Jackster knew Wendy. Yes, THE Wendy.
And…adoption is cool.
* I am quite proud to have used the word “mustachioed” in a blog post.

your original plan of 3 days a week at 6 am sounds HORRIFIC.
spin class scares me
Haha, we’re still doing 3 days a week at 6 AM, just not spinning all three days. It’s kind of horrific. I might be dead in a few weeks. Dead, but super buff.
Also, you’re back at school? We should hang out! Elise is here…come over and we’ll cook!
Yes! I was going to email you soon when I saw the Elise post!
What weekend is good for you?
