It’s been a baking marathon over here and I think I’m starting to hit the wall. I have one more cake to power through for Saturday and a dessert for Sunday and then I’m hanging up my (never-worn) apron for a few days and taking a little baking break. Perhaps I’ll tackle a nice stew or a roasted chicken. Something that does not involve copious amounts of butter and sugar for a day or two.
In the past week and a half I have made:
Crack Cookies (best line ever was walking into the dentist and having the first thing said to me be, “I’m making crack cookies this weekend” by the dentist’s wife.
Four dozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana cupcakes for an Elvis-fanatic co-worker
Seventy-two Butterfly Cupcakes. I’m still elated over these cupcakes.
At least 10 dozen Hamantaschen (of which about 4 dozen did not end up a big, jammy, cookie mess.)
And 84 iPurim cupcakes.
I was going to bake the cakes tonight, but I sat down on the couch…and well, I’m still sitting on the couch. Why do today, what you can put off until tomorrow?
