We’re on our second batch of the holiday already. I like to make my matzo ball soup with A LOT of stuff in it. I know a lot of people prefer the matzo ball to stand on its own in a bowl of chicken broth, but I prefer to add onions, carrots, celery, and a whole lotta chicken to my soup.
A big bowl of matzo ball soup was exactly what I needed tonight. Somehow it is only Wednesday during the world’s longest week. We started a big test at work which means early mornings and late nights. Usually this is all well and swell because I like the people I work with and they like me. Until Tuesday.
On Tuesday…well, I tried to poison my co-workers. I had an unfortunate incident with an aging mug of hot chocolate and the effects of a chemical reaction, which resulted in…well, an old, fermented hot chocolate bomb. A bomb which exploded early Tuesday morning and splattered hot chocolate around my office (conveniently in a pretty contained area) and let out an odor to kill all odors throughout the whole room.
Let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. After disinfecting, vacuuming, wet-vaccing the carpet, fanning, air freshioning, and vinegar-ing the area… it still smelled like puke. This is something I’m pretty sure I’m not going to hear the end of for a long long time. However, after some damage control with two kinds of Fabreze, an odor-eater, and some baking soda, I’m happy to say the office is getting back to normal. No one had to leave his office today and I even got one comment on how it smelled cleaner.
I’ve certainly learned my lesson. No more hot chocolate for a while.
