I mean, I knew he was already, but today he flexed his muscles (literally) and helped a stranger.
Tonight we went out to Sticky Rice in DC (the old haunt of Jen and Melissa) to use an almost expired Livingsocial Voucher. Funny how that happens, huh? I went through a phase where I bought a bunch of those vouchers, then waited until the very last or almost the very last day before they expired to finally get off my butt and use them. This included: playing laser tag (Andrew is remarkably good at laser tag), heading to the Adventure Park with Elise, and the ill-fated trip to a Baltimore steak house that never happened because the first time we went it was too busy and the second time we tried to go, Andrew spent the evening in the ER after passing out at a taco place (those two facts are unrelated to one another. Andrew was fine. In fact, after passing out, but before going to the ER, he got up and ate his burrito).
Oh wait, where was I? Right, we went out to dinner. Sticky Rice is a great restaurant on H Street NW in DC. I’ve been there a bunch of times and it has never failed me. And I didn’t even like sushi for a really long time.
After eating r-e-a-l-l-y, r-e-a-l-l-y slowly…and after eating many many pieces of sushi, Andrew and I were walking down the street back to his car when he was randomly stopped by a guy on the street. Turns out this lady’s car had broken down in the middle of the street and it was sort of stuck half in the street, half on the curb. So, big, burly, strong guy that he is, Andrew helped push the car off the curb and then into a side parking lot. Apparently the car was quite heavy. But they got it tucked away safe and sound and we continued home.
A few other notes on the evening:
- The Washington Redskins drafted RGIII as their new quarterback. After my 30 second experience watching him on the TV, I’ve decided I like him and I hope he succeeds here in DC. He was wearing awesome socks.
- I am typing this post with only one contact in. It’s a strange sensation as I am virtually blind without my contacts. If I was walking like this, I’m fairly certain I would walk into at least two things.
