Right. I will just give you a moment to digest that photo.
After a lazy weekend, a bunch of us decided to head to the Brevard Zoo to check out the animals. But before we could actually make it into the zoo we got sidetracked at this ropes course thing called Treetop Trek. It’s a lot like the adventure park I went to with Elise last summer, but not quite as scary. Like I told Elise, “I only felt like I might die one or two times.”
It’s a pretty fun course with a lot of swinging logs and plenty of zip lines. The zip lines are always the best part. The longest one we got to do was over a bunch of marshland. I filmed it as I went down, but had to stop filming a bit before the end so I wouldn’t crash into the tree at full speed.
We made it through maybe about three-quarters of the course before we started to hear thunder. At the first sound of thunder, they have to evacuate the course in case lightning follows. I was just about to head down a zip line when the called for us to come down. At first I was pretty bummed until the tree I was standing in 25 feet in the air started swaying. After that you didn’t have to tell me twice to head down.
We managed to clear out just before the rain started pouring down. Unfortunately we weren’t able to resume our adventure, but it was totally worth it.
We never did make it to the zoo.
After running through the raindrops we had lunch along the river. I had a surprisingly delicious Asian chicken salad.
The salad dressing was the best part. It was sweet and spicy and really made the salad worth it. Also, I need to eat more vegetables.
All of the adventure wiped me out today so I spent the rest of the day napping and finishing up Pushing Daisies. I watched the entire series in the past week or so and I’m sad it took me so long to start watching. It’s clever and funny and the look of the show is right up my alley. Sadly, I’ve watched it all now. What should I watch next?
