Baking is back.
I’ve got four pounds of butter in the fridge, 34 eggs, and 10 lbs of sugar. I’m ready.
Sadly, I’m missing my stand mixer and all of my cake pans, but I’ll make do with what I have. It feels good to bake again. For the Memorial Day BBQ I made some chocolate chip cookies and tonight I baked up the rest of the batch. So delicious.
Also, I got my first birthday present! Elise sent me a pie contest kit (not sure it’s worth trying to pull one of those together here) and this super cool sheet metal model of the Neuschwanstein Castle. I’ve actually been to the castle in Germany and the castle inspired by it at Disney World and it’s apparently my favorite puzzle picture. I’ve got to show it to the sheet metal guy at work before I work on putting it together, but it’s one of those awesome unusual things that I find SO cool. Thanks Elise!
