Some days. Some days just start out badly and only get worse. Some day start out badly and trend upwards. Today was more of the former. Nothing specific, just a multitude of things building up on one another that made today less than joyous.
However, after work was a different story. I spent way too long walking around World Market, picking up random treats from overseas and a cupcake pan. Afterwards, I came home with the intentions of making banana bread, scones, cake balls, and rice crispy treats. (I think the amount of baking I do is directly proportional to how much stress I have to relieve at any given time.) However, due to poor planning, being unable to turn on the correct burner (seriously, I spent ten minutes trying to boil water by heating up the burner next to the burner the pot was on), and a dirty dishwasher, I did not get nearly that much done.
But, I did get the first batch of cake balls made up. They may not be the prettiest treats, but I think they taste pretty good. We’ll find out tomorrow I suppose.
After that, I spent way too long on the phone and have now been distracting myself by teaching myself German on Duolingo.com and reading the internet. On that note, I must go to sleep.
Here is a deceiving picture showing how beautiful the beach is at dusk.
A rain storm rolled in and the sky got cloudy quickly. But when I stepped out on my balcony, I saw a small break in the clouds. I think we all need a small break.
