I’m home! After a relatively uneventful flight, Andrew picked up me and my mountains of luggage and I’m currently typing this surrounded by no fewer than eight pillows. If this isn’t luxury, I don’t know what is.
One last sunrise over Cocoa Beach this morning before doing all those last minute things you do before you leave somewhere after an extended stay. Check all the drawers for random belongings, empty the fridge, clean off the counters…it was a glamorous morning.
Something funny did happen on my flight out of Orlando though. I got on the plane and sat next to a nice lady and her husband. She was chatty and friendly and mentioned they had just come from Cocoa Beach. She had mentioned she had been there for the week, so I asked her if she had seen the launch. And she had! She then asked if I had seen it, and it was quite satisfying to reply with, “Yeah, I did…I worked on that satellite.” Imagine the look of surprise on her face. The rest of the flight was peppered with questions about RBSP and my job. I felt a little like I was famous. She had me sign a piece of paper at the end of the flight. Which I guess means there’s a chance she has found this blog. So, if you have…I had a lovely time sitting next to you on our Southwest flight this morning.
Now begins the transition back to regular life. No more views of the ocean outside my window (ahh…radio station tower, I missed you), but Andrew is here and it’s like 15 degrees cooler. Somehow, I think it’ll be ok.
