Betsy and I went to go see the Patriots play the Ravens at M&T Stadium tonight in Baltimore. I had never seen either team play so this was a perfect opportunity to hit two birds with one stone.
After a bit of debacle and a lot of U-turns we ended up at our trusty Baltimore parking garage that has been our go-to for professional sporting events in Baltimore (i.e. Orioles games). We made it to our seats where we were pretty much surrounded by black and purple, but there were a few Patriots fans smattered here and there.
It was a fun game. It came down to the last play and unfortunately not in the way I was hoping. But the weather was great, the fans were fun (we were united against the refs for basically the entire game), and I’m glad we got to go.
There was a crazy fan who ran out onto the field during the game. The security was quite calm in approaching him and he managed to evade him once before being tackled by 2 or 3 guys and taken off in handcuffs.
Also, did anyone else know the Ravens had a marching band? They are basically a legit band, except their half-time show was a little light on the marching. Still, the band geek in me was kind of impressed.
Another good end to an eventful weekend. And an exciting week ahead!
