My friend Kris has decided she’s going to be a derby girl. Because she’s awesome. She came out tonight to give skating a try since she hasn’t been on skates for a while. Considering she was wearing those crappy rental skates and it’s been a good 20 or so years since she’s been on 8 wheels, I think she did an awesome job. She looked steady on her feet (despite what she may say) and once she learns to stop, I think she’s good to go.
I’m excited for a potential future derby buddy at work. There’s another boot camp/rec league session starting up in a couple of weeks so her timing is perfect.
Here’s a picture of us with our eyes open. After two hours on skates, Kris is still smiling which I take as a good sign.
