I managed to get up at 5:30 to make it to the gym this morning. I was there by 6:15, worked out, and was ready to start working by 8. Since I basically never get to work early anymore, I actually got emails from people asking me why I was there so early and if something was wrong. Geesh.
After work I went straight to derby for some team time and a scrimmage. And now I’m home and not only did I manage to survive this day, but I also didn’t forget anything. This is a small miracle.
Oh yeah, this picture is of the satellite dish at work, taken around 7:30 this morning. You can’t really tell, but it’s snowing. Because why? Because the MD weather hates us. After a balmy 60 degree weekend, we’re back to the cold and snow. I’m dreaming of short sleeves and sunshine now.
Fun fact: I worked on that satellite dish. I’ve been inside that dish. Like, literally inside the metal arms of it. And on top of the dish. It was really hot. I got certified to climb on stuff like that after having to climb on the outside of a tower 100 feet in the air. It was awesome. There are orange brackets inside the dish that I designed and we actually named the support structure “hootinannies”. This is what engineers do for fun.
