When we moved into this house, there was virtually nothing we had to do. We didn’t knock down any walls, replace any appliances, or even paint any rooms. We moved our existing furniture in and have filled the spaces as best as we can. We’ve got pictures on the walls and we’re basically all moved in.
Our one big dilemma is what to do with the big windows in the front of our house. We have floor to ceiling windows and when it’s dark out, you can see directly into our house. Interior design is not something I know much about or even where to start. I do love watching HGTV, but when it comes to me figuring it out on my own, I have no idea where to start.
On Saturday, while watching Andrew’s hockey game, Rob’s mom and I got chatting. His mom has great taste so I started asking her advice on what to do. Today, when I picked Andrew up from the metro, he had a gift for me from Rob’s mom. She had mentioned this book that gives you some beginning tips on interior design. Inside the book were notes from her on different window treatment options. How awesome is that?
So, now I’ve got a place to start. Also, I’m official a grown up who talks about things like window treatments. Life is weird.
