This morning I got up and ran the Pikes Peek 10k. The course is great for PRs because it’s straight and flat. I think there are two very slight inclines over the course of the entire race. This is the third or fourth year I’ve run it and even though I just started running again, I figured the gentle course might be enough to get me through it.
And it was. I felt good. It wasn’t until about 4.5 miles in that I was really wishing I had brought some water, but for the most part, it was a good race. Alright, 10k down, only 20 more miles to go with this whole marathon training business.
After running 6.2 miles down Rockville Pike, I met up with Andrew, Rob, and Cantwell for some rock climbing. Today’s hobbies were very rock-heavy. Afterwards I listened to some rock music, ate some rock candy, sat on a rocking horse, and then played Rock Band (do people still play Rock Band? Does that even exist anymore?)
Suffice it to say, this was a very active day. I’m pooped.
