Today was a gloriously relaxing day. After a lazy morning, Andrew and I headed to downtown Rockville. He wanted to watch the soccer game, so while he watched I walked around downtown. Apparently Memorial Day weekend here is a “Hometown Holiday” which meant there was a whole big shindig set up. This is not that special since it appears to me that there is some sort of event held in downtown Rockville nearly every week, but it was something to check out. There were multiple stages set up with bands playing all day and night, a big play area with rides for the kids, and a whole strip of tents with all of the local restaurants selling food samples. I wandered around and got some snacks while the game was finishing up.
Afterwards we went home and have since been marathon watching Friday Night Lights. I’m pretty sure I’ve been sitting on the couch for the last five hours. One episode to go, but Andrew is making me wait until tomorrow! Gah!
