My birthday celebrations continued at work today. My group has a habit of celebrating the big birthdays in a big way. A couple of years ago we had seven 50th birthdays. Each birthday had a theme, decorations to go with that theme, and were pretty specific to the birthday person. Two years later we’re still going strong and have expanded the celebrations to 70th, 60th, 50th, 40th, and 30th birthdays as well.
Which means today when I got to work, this is what my office looked like:
And when I ducked under all the streamers and limboed to my desk, this is what I found:
No joke. I walked around today looking for 30 bags of candy. THIRTY. That’s a lot of candy. The best is when I went into random people’s offices who had no idea what I was talking about and stalked their bookshelves, boxes of crap, and rolled up drawings looking for this stuff. It was a lot of fun though.
And now I have thirty bags of candy.

My friends and coworkers know me well. The real question though is, how long until they start raiding my candy stash? I’m going to guess there will be some missing by tomorrow.
