The one upside to taking a terrible flight home meant that we had an entire day in Seattle to explore. After recovering from the wedding, Andrew and I headed out to take in some Seattle sights.
After picking up a few gifts and getting some lunch we still had a couple of hours to kill, so we headed over to the Chihuly art gallery. It’s located right next to the Space Needle and it was super cool. Each room was different and amazing and beautiful. We only spent a little while there, but I’m really glad we went. If you’re ever in Seattle, I highly recommend it.
After that we hightailed it back to the hotel to check out and meet up with Lauren! Lauren is Melissa’s cousin and she moved to Seattle earlier this year. She picked us up at the hotel and gave us the grand tour of Seattle. It was awesome. First we headed out to west Seattle to get a view of the Seattle skyline. While we were out there at also got to see Mount Rainier peeking through the clouds.
Afterwards she took us up to Fremont which is a kind of wacky area of Seattle. First we checked out the rocket, because there’s a rocket. It’s odd. But then we had to go see the troll under the bridge. Things are quirky over there.
Before we knew it was time for dinner. Lauren made us a reservation at RockCreek Seafood and Spirits. It was awesome. The food was so good. We totally lived it up. We had oysters, salad, appetizers, and some great fish entrĂ©es. We capped off an excellent day with some excellent desserts before Andrew and I had to head to the airport. Lauren was a great tour guide and it was really fun to hang out with her. Can’t wait to see her again!
