After about twelve years, I decided it was finally time to get a new toothbrush. Don’t worry, I haven’t been using the same toothbrush for over a decade. Back when those electric toothbrushes first came out, my dental hygienist at the time randomly sent me one as a gift. I dunno why, but it clearly had a lasting impact on me.
So a few weeks ago it finally started to malfunction and die, so I did my dutiful internet research and bought a new one. Man, toothbrush technology has advanced over the past decade. My old toothbrush had two settings: regular and gentle. My new one has five. I don’t even know what they all are. It tells me when I’m brushing too hard and has a smiley face timer to make sure I’m brushing for the recommended two minutes. This thing came with a 10 page instruction manual which I had to read cover-to-cover to be able to use it.
Geesh. Technology is complicated.
