Our seventh and final wedding of 2014 is coming up in a few weeks and I’m super pumped for it. Steph I is getting married! To Ben! And it’s going to be amazing because these are two of the greatest people you will ever meet.
They asked me a while ago if I would make their wedding cake and of course I jumped at the chance. Steph and Ben had an unusual flavor request so I made a few cakes for them to sample with different recipes and used the opportunity to get in a little practice for the real wedding cake.
Today she came over to taste test the cake and hang out while I worked on the decorating. It was a very productive visit! Not only did I figure out what techniques worked and didn’t work, but we also made some adjustments to the colors, picked out cake flavors, talked about the cake topper, and figured out the delivery. Steph even got in on the decorating action. Plus, we got to hang out for a few hours which is always super fun.
Just a couple more weeks and it’ll be wedding time! (Also, their wedding cake is going to look nothing like the cake in these pictures.)
