Today I returned to the DC Armory for the first time in what feels like forever. Last season the majority of our roller derby practices and bouts were at the Armory, but this year we’ve been practicing at other places around the city.
After making the arduous decision to go home before heading into DC (wrong decision), I got to the expo with plenty of time. The expo is for the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday and I was there to pick up my packet. With 30,000 people expected to run the race, getting in early was the smart thing to do. There was no line as I went to get my bib, and Betsy and I had plenty of time to wander around without being crushed by the crowds. It was a rather enjoyable experience. I have a feeling this is going to be most enjoyable part of this whole thing…
