I went to open skate tonight and when I got there it was…empty.
Actually, that’s not true. When I got there, there were four or five other people there, all aged 70 or older. I was the only person without gray hair, but these folks were totally getting their groove on…on roller skates.
I’m adding roller skating to my list of things I want to do when I’m old. I also want to qualify for the Boston Marathon because it seems most likely I’ll be able to make that time requirement (although I just looked it up, and I wouldn’t have even qualified this year if I was 80…so I have some work on that one), do a triathlon (I am motivated by the 70something woman who ran one with me four or five years ago. It was her first triathlon and she finished the race well over 2 hours after everyone else with a Pepsi in her hand. Not sure where the Pepsi came from.), and maybe do a handstand (because, if this lady can still do gymnastics at 86, I should be able to do a handstand.)
