Andrew and I went to the movies and beforehand we got dinner at Five Guys. It took me a while to warm up to them, but dang, they make good burgers. The fries? Eh, I can take ’em or leave ’em, but they sure give you a healthy serving.
Friday evening I went out with Liz and Betsy for happy hour and dinner. Since I hate beer, I got a pear and blackberry cider. It was gross. I could only a quarter of it because it was too syrupy sweet for my taste.
We went to a place called The Ale House which has the most nondescript sign. It looks like a sad, generic little place, but inside it’s actually quite busy and the food is really good. It was a pleasant surprise.
Andrew was away this weekend which meant I had free reign of the house. Since my schedule was light, I ended up making good progress on my projects. I got the entire table frame together before I lost momentum. Yup, I put it together in our dining room, right next to the old table. It was a little crowded.
Being trying to decide which color to stain it. I’ve been talking to a lot of people and learning a lot about this whole process. It’s a little nerve-wracking, because after all the work you put into building the table, you want to make sure the finish looks good.
For the first time in three years, I had a sudden craving for a Chipotle burrito. I haven’t been in a Chipotle for a while, but it seems to be burritos are going out of style. Are burrito bowls the hip things to get nowadays? Someone enlighten me for my next burrito trip in three years.
I’ve been off-skates at derby practice for the last month because of a knee injury. Watching my team doing a paceline around the track was making me dizzy.
Getting to hang out with this girl is always the best. Her family isn’t so bad either. ;P (Also, she’s worthy of the actual camera instead of just phone cameras.)
We went to the CAPS game against the Edmonton Oilers. The CAPS led the entire game despite it being a somewhat lazy game. And then somehow they managed to let the Oilers tie it up in the third and then lose in a shootout. Cool to see a shootout, disappointing game to watch.
