I had a good amount of free time my second day in MA. So I went to my favorite place, Rockport!
I walked around for a while, stopping in shops and generally enjoying the atmosphere. It was a little bit chilly for me, but it was nice to walk around when it wasn’t super crowded with tourists.
I stopped at my favorite fish shack and got some clam chowder to warm me up.
We kicked off the weekend with Game 2 of the CAPS vs. Islanders first round playoff series. It was a nailbiter, but in the end the CAPS emerged victorious.
On Saturday Andrew and I headed up to PA. Our first stop was at Hershey Park. We met up with the Abels and walked around all day.
It was Andrew’s first time at the park. We were there for nearly seven hours and by the time the park closed, I was completely pooped. The kids did great though.
On our way out of town we stopped at this random restaurant off the highway. It was decent, but nothing super special. They did serve their beet salad in a tiny cast iron pan though which was a plus.
We didn’t go home though. Instead we drive to somewhere else in PA and stayed overnight so that we could go see the DC All-Stars play Brandywine. Our B-team, the National Maulers came away victorious, but the All-Stars fell in a tight game.
By Monday I finally managed to finish the chalkboard organizers my friend asked me to make.
And on Tuesday, I was back on another plane.
This time it was to LA! And the best part was that I got to see Elise!
We met up at Laguna Beach, had lunch and walked around for a bit. Then we headed a few minutes down the road to go on a chocolate tour. Aren’t our outfits stunning?
These are tubs and tubs of chocolate ready to send to their chocolatier in Canada.
And this is a magic spout that produces a little cupful of melted chocolate every time you push the button above it.
Phew, in one week I’ve literally been gone from the Atlantic to the Pacific. I’m pooped.
