This morning I got up on the earlier side because the sun was shining in right on my face. I used my morning well though.
Before even getting our of bed, I finished the last few pages of the book I’ve been reading, Molaka’i. Melissa have it to me for my birthday and as soon as I picked it up, I was captivated. It is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. It’s beautifully written with a great story. I was excited to. Find out how it ended and sad at the same time. I would highly recommend it.
After finishing my book I hit the road with rest of the beach going running and biking population who wanted to beat the heat. It was a pleasant if not particularly fast run, but I was glad I got out there.
Especially because we went out to lunch and I got this:
Yes, it’s as gluttonous as it looks. No, I did not want the whole thing. Yes, I felt kind of gross afterwards. We had a lovely lunch out though before heading back and hitting the beach. As soon as we got out there, I promptly fell asleep which is precisely what beach weekends are for. Naps and reading while enjoying the sound of the waves and the chatter of beach goers is a perfect afternoon.
