Tonight we had a much overdue dinner with Arthur and Katy. The last time we saw them was a few months ago. Katy was still at the beginning of her pregnancy and wasn’t feeling so hot most of the time. Now, she’s just weeks away from having their baby and I can’t wait!
Since our schedule has been nuts lately, we hadn’t really had a chance to get together before now, but we wanted to try to squeeze in something before their baby arrives and things really get nuts. I picked up Andrew after work and we headed up to Frederick for dinner. It was a nice evening so we hung out outside for a while and enjoyed each other’s company while Arthur grilled up the meal that Katy had prepared. It was so good. We had burgers, AMAZING grilled squash and zucchini, and some delicious corn.
Late last year they got a puppy named Hank. Hank isn’t really a puppy anymore, but he’s adorable. He was so well behaved and gentle. He also knew how to throw those puppy dog eyes at you to get you to give him some treats. Andrew was the first sucker to cave and from that moment on, Hank had Andrew pegged as the guy who was going to slip him a little something. That dog is so awesome. He was totally cool around us and really fun to play with. I like Hank.
Arthur and Katy are in the home stretch before the baby is born and they seem so ready. The nursery is set up and they’re well stocked on diapers and clothes and all of the bajillions of things you need when you have a baby. Now, they’re settled in and waiting for Baby Miller to arrive. I’m so excited to meet her!
