We got up this morning and hit the road fairly early on our way to Tahoe on the the third leg of our planes, trains, and automobile trip. Three minutes after getting into the car I promptly fell asleep. When I woke up we were pulling into Machados which is a local orchard that makes amazing pies, amongst other things.
We stocked up with three pies, tamales, and an assortment of snacks before heading up the rest of the way to the cabin.
I have to say, it’s not a bad view.
The afternoon was spent relaxing before the rest of Andrew’s family got to then cabin. It rained today and substantially cooled it down so our hearty meatloaf dinner was a welcomed meal. Everyone was kind of pooped after all the travel so it’s been a fairly early night for most people.
Tonight was the super moon though and the clouds cleared in time for Barbara and I to try our hands at photographing the moon. I used the new tripod my mom got me and was able to get a few decent shots. I’d say this leg of the trip is off to a good start!
