We got a late season snow storm. In the end we had at least 6 inches, maybe more.
Because of the snow, we had a work at home day. It was very timely. Between checking emails and shoveling the driveway, I was able to get jump start baking GTA’s wedding cake.
The bottom tier was funfetti.
The second tier was cherry vanilla.
The top two were german chocolate.
With the tail end of the cold weather, I figured it I should get a few cold weather foods in before spring comes around. I made us beef stew one night.
I like to make my stew extra hearty.
It takes a lot of butter to make a wedding cake.
And in this case, a lot of egg whites too. I ended up having 20 extra egg yolks.
I was proud of my time management for this cake. I didn’t have to stay up ridiculously late and I wasn’t rushing to finish before the wedding. I even had time to clean up the kitchen before we left. Transporting a cake is the most stressful part of the process for me. I was VERY excited when it was safely delivered.
The birds are parrots.
This is my official dress for weddings.
Our big winter storm was followed up by rapidly rising temperatures. Four days after the snowstorm it warmed up enough to be official grilling weather.
